BS Bureau in Chennai | December 09, 2003 10:34 IST

Taiwanese mobile handset manufacturer, BENQ, which entered the Indian market recently, may open a customer service call centre in India in 2005.

The first quarter of 2004 would also see the launch of BENQ notebook computers.

"We call this a Joy Book which has a display unit of over 15 inches and would be a complete multimedia machine," said Ashish Bakshi, country head, BENQ India.

Apart from mobile handsets, BENQ also deals in a whole range of IT peripheral products such as scanners, LCD and CRD display units, digital camera, etc.

"Our plans to open a customer service call centre would fructify depending on our success in the entire gamut of products we offer in India," he said.
