Hot on the ramp: Anita Dongre's seductive nymphs

Anita Dongre presented a gorgeous collection titled Waves of Joy on Day 3 of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012. Here are stunning images from the show. Photographs: Hitesh Harisinghani

Someone in the Godrej Interio marketing team -- the company that sponsored Anita Dongre's show -- decided that it would be a good idea to create 3D special effects on the ramp.

So you had Dipannita Sharma walking down, well walking up actually, from the camerapersons' pit towards the middle of the ramp and pausing in the middle as the SFX team that Godrej had hired projected some of their sofas on the screens and Sharma pretended (with some difficulty) to be surprised.

Moving on to the show, Dongre's Waves of Joy consisted of sensuous, elegant gowns and maxi dresses, comfortable jackets, fluid palazzos and delicate lacy blouses that gave the collection a feminine touch.

Models in gorgeous swirling long gowns with trellised yokes in pretty pastels glide down the ramp.

The silhouette was very 1950s, as stiff flouncy canvas petticoats rustled under the full circle skirts of the dresses, with provocative necklines and sensually cinched at the waist.
