STUNNING PICS: Ankita Shorey does an Angelina? Almost!

Fashion designer Jatin Varma's collection Glisten was all about red carpet glamour as models walked the ramp in stunning outfits that ranged from the cute to the daring.

The show opened in semi-darkness as three models posed on the stage before the lights came on and the drama began to strains of the violin.

Varma's collection comprised a line of well-structured and impeccably finished gowns and dresses. Candice Pinto opened the show for the designer in this outfit.

Sucheta Sharma walks the ramp in one of Varma's outfits. The collection started with nudes wafted into blues before eventually closing with a line of black dresses and gowns.

Laser cut looks with a matt sequin finish highlighting the sharpness and detailing were prominent on the ramp.

Glisten is a distinct departure from his last collection Paparazzi that featured satin gowns in almost electric greens and blues. The colour palette is soothing -- predominantly muted – reminiscent of early midsummer and the silhouettes more structured than the last collection.

If there was a hint of last season that spilled over into this one it would be this glittering black gown that Ankita Shorey modelled.

Needless to say the high slit was reminiscent of Angelina Jolie's black gown at the Oscars and we could almost see Shorey being tempted to stick out her leg a la Jolie but were mercifully spared a 'me-too' moment.
