Actor and mum of two Chhavi Hussein often uses Instagram to talk about important issues that affect society.

From pregnancy to post-partum depression, the actor has shared several examples of her vulnerabilities, insecurities, fears and more.

In one of her latest posts, she has talked about why parents need to be careful about the content their kids are exposed to and how the environment in which they are brought up in influences their actions when they grow up.

Here's the full post below:

'It is imperative to monitor the content being consumed by kids who are 1 to 8 years. (Beyond that I think they anyway get too independent nowadays) And if possible completely not expose them to any outside influence because young minds are impressionable and we cannot fathom what they take back from an innocent video.

'I have made a conscious, and a very hard effort to stop @areezahussein from watch phones or iPads or TV. She's now allowed an hour of viewing every Sunday of her favourite cartoon. (She's 7)

'This required me to spend extra time with her to help keep her busy. It meant I didn't watch any TV in her presence, I must've watched 4 films in the hall in the last 7 years.

'I involved her in every activity I did (cooking, cleaning, meetings, gymming etc) so I wouldn't feel the need to put the idiot box on for her.

'I will do the same for @arhamhussein . The reason why I chose to do this, is for my babies to have optimal brain development and to let their own imagination thrive. But today, it's even more important! Because who knows what effect the outside negativity will have on them, or even a dinner table conversation for that matter.

'As parents, we all have an extremely heavy responsibility on our shoulders and if we are not ready to take it on, we shouldn't.

'We have the power to shape the world's future by means of teaching good values to our own kids.

'The recent news of WhatsApp chats of teenagers (boys) abusing and talking of gang raping their own classmates shocked the living daylights out of me. If it's not money, education, or familial backgrounds...

'Then it must be what they see around them. What they watch. What they learn, take away from it.

'In today's world, it is even more important to save our children from the negativity outside, to allow positivity to thrive inside the new generation.'
