5 priciest motorcycles of 2015

After the most affordable bikes list, here come the costliest motorcycles launched during 2015.

The year 2015 has seen both ups and downs -- few foreign companies finally entered the Indian market whereas some of the popular products were discontinued. Earlier, we listed the most affordable bikes launched in 2015. Here is a list of 5 costliest bike launches in 2015.

1. Indian Roadmaster at Rs 37 lakh

On February 2, 2015, an American leisure motorcycle maker, Indian Motorcycle launched Roadmaster in India with a price tag of Rs 37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Based on the popular Indian Chief range, the bike gets additional comforts and convenience features making it a better option for long tours.

The bike is powered by a 1,811cc, Thunder Stroke 111, air-cooled, V-Twin engine that helps it to generate the peak torque of 161.6Nm. Its power plant uses closed loop fuel injection system and is mated to a super-smooth 6-speed gearbox.

2. Yamaha YZF-R1 and R1M at Rs 22.34 lakh onwards

In April this year, Yamaha introduced its powerful machines, YZF-R1 and R1M with the starting price of Rs 22.34 lakh. Both the motorcycles are based on MotoGP technology and bring an ultimate riding experience.

Powered by 998cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, forward inclined parallel 4-cylinder engine these bikes generate an amazing 197bhp of power along with the peak torque of 112.4Nm.

Yamaha YZF-R1 is available in two colours -- Racing Blue and Racing Red and has been priced at Rs 22.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Its more powerful sibling, the R1M Sports, comes in Silver Blue Carbon colour and is available for Rs 29.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

3. Kawasaki Ninja H2 at Rs 29 lakh

The month of April was dedicated to power machines. Following its Japanese counterpart Yamaha, Kawasaki introduced its most powerful super sports motorcycle, Ninja H2. Launched with the price tag of Rs 29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), Kawasaki Ninja H2 has been developed with company’s crossover technologies and houses 998cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke inline, 4-cylinder supercharged engine that leads to most powerful acceleration.

This 998cc power-train can achieve maximum power of 197.4bhp, which can be further extended to 207.2bhp with RAM air.

4. MV Agusta F4 at Rs 25.5 lakh

During October 2015, one of the most beautifully crafted motorcycles, MV Agusta arrived on the Indian Soil at Rs 25.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).

Powering of the motorcycle is done by 998cc, four-cylinder, DOHC, radial valve engine, which churns out 192.33bhp of power at 13,400rpm and 110.8Nm of peak torque.

The bike features MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) & Ride-By-Wire technology, four engine maps, 8-stage traction control, Torque Shift System, EAS (Electronically Assisted Shift) and Inertial platform lean angle sensor.  

5. Harley Davidson Road King at Rs 25 lakh

An American touring motorcycle maker, Harley-Davidson introduced its highly popular model Road King in India with the price tag of Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike was launched to cater the needs of touring enthusiasts who are willing to pay a good price for a nice product.

It offers complete cruiser package with a Twin Cam 103 engine, ABS, Cruise Control, Saddlebags, pneumatically adjustable suspensions. Powered by a 1689cc engine, the bike is mated to 6-speed transmission and delivers peak torque of 142Nm.
