Jaiswal, Sooryavanshi lead RR to victory

RR 225-3 (19.1 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi produced a match-defining six-hitting burst to power Rajasthan Royals past a challenging 221-run target.

After a quiet start, he shifted gears in the middle overs and completely shut the bowlers out of the contest.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, leading RR on the day, laid the foundation with a controlled but aggressive start that set the tempo of the chase.

From there, Sooryavanshi took over, dismantling the attack with fearless power-hitting and never letting the opposition regain control.

The result also shakes up the playoff race -- Punjab Kings slip out of the top four for the first time this season, while RR climb above them.

With one game left each and strong net run rates, the qualification battle remains finely poised heading into the final round.

Jaiswal, Sooryavanshi lead RR to victory

RR 225-3 (19.1 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Rajasthan Royals are handed an added boost with a slow over-rate penalty against Lucknow Super Giants, leaving only four fielders outside the circle as Shahbaz Ahmed comes on to bowl the final over with just 2 runs required.

But there is no drama in the end.

Donovan Ferreira finishes things in emphatic style, smashing a huge six to seal the chase and complete a memorable win for RR.

Rajasthan Royals win by 7 wickets with 5 balls remaining -- their first victory in Jaipur this season.

A remarkable chase built on power and composure, even without key names like Ravindra Jadeja and Riyan Parag.

Captain Yashasvi Jaiswal leads from the front as RR get the job done, all smiles at the end after a dominant all-round performance in a high-scoring thriller.

RR need just 2 off 6

RR 219-3 (19 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Rajasthan Royals move within touching distance of victory as Prince Yadav comes on to bowl a tense over.

Dhruv Jurel starts with a dot as he pulls straight to midwicket, but quickly switches gears in style -- smashing a huge six to bring up a well-made fifty off 37 balls. He follows it up with a single, leaving RR just 3 runs away from victory.

Donovan Ferreira then looks to finish it but drills one straight to mid-off for no run. Nicholas Pooran puts down a simple chance, a costly miss at a crucial moment.

Ferreira collects a single to end the over.

Just 2 runs needed off the final 6 balls as RR stay on the brink of victory.

RR 211-3 (18 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Rajasthan Royals edge closer to victory as Mayank Yadav is brought back into the attack for a crucial over.

Donovan Ferreira and Dhruv Jurel rotate strike early with a single each, keeping the chase under control.

Ferreira then finds timing, pulling one down to long-on for a couple before opening up with a well-placed boundary to ease the pressure. The momentum stays with RR as they inch closer to the target.

A couple more runs follow before Mayank finishes the over with a sharp delivery that beats the bat.

It's 10 runs from the over, and after 18 overs RR are 211/3, needing just 10 runs from 12 balls to seal the chase.
23:14

Pretorius departs, RR 3 down

RR 201-3 (17 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Prince Yadav returns to the attack and immediately creates a big moment for Lucknow Super Giants.

Dhruv Jurel misses the first ball before digging out a yorker towards point, but confusion in the middle proves costly. Lhuan-dre Pretorius is caught well short while trying to steal a run.

Ayush Badoni reacts brilliantly, firing in a direct hit at the striker's end to complete the run-out.

Pretorius departs for 7 off 6 balls, giving LSG a much-needed breakthrough at a crucial stage of the chase.

Donovan Ferreira walks in as the new batter.

There’s a huge appeal from Prince Yadav for lbw, and after a brief discussion with Rishabh Pant — who initially feels it might be sliding down leg — Lucknow Super Giants decide to review.

UltraEdge confirms there’s no bat involved, but ball-tracking shows the delivery missing leg stump, allowing Dhruv Jurel to survive.

Jurel then responds calmly, picking up two runs before pulling one towards midwicket for a single, bringing up 200 for Rajasthan Royals.

A single off the final ball wraps up the over. It’s 5 runs and a wicket from it, and after 17 overs RR are 201/3, needing just 20 runs from 18 balls.
23:08

Royals close in on massive chase

RR 196-2 (16 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Lhuan-dre Pretorius walks in as the new batter for Rajasthan Royals, but it's Dhruv Jurel who continues to control the chase.

Digvesh Rathi returns to bowl, and Jurel keeps the scoreboard ticking with a couple of twos before nudging one down to long-on for a single. Pretorius gets off the mark with a calm single of his own, while the batters rotate strike smartly to close out the over.

It's a steady passage after the earlier fireworks -- 8 runs come from the over, taking RR to 188/2 after 15 overs, needing 33 from 30 balls.

Mohsin Khan comes back again and keeps things relatively quiet. Pretorius collects a couple, Jurel adds a single, and the intensity briefly settles after the chaos of the middle overs.

Another 8-run over means RR move to 196/2 after 16 overs, now needing just 25 runs from 24 balls to complete the chase.

Mohsin ends Sooryavanshi's blitz

image

RR 180-2 (14 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Rajasthan Royals continue to dominate the chase as Digvesh Rathi returns to the attack.

Dhruv Jurel starts with a single before Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has a couple of swings and misses. But the youngster quickly recovers, smashing a huge six to move to 88 off just 34 balls. He then finishes the over with a boundary after Mitchell Marsh fails to cut it off near the ropes.

Another productive over brings 11 runs, taking RR to 177/1 after 13 overs, with only 44 needed from 42 balls.

Mohsin Khan returns and nearly creates a run-out chance straightaway. Jurel sends Sooryavanshi back, and Digvesh Rathi fires in a throw to Mohsin, who has plenty of time and all three stumps to aim at -- but somehow misses from close range.

Sooryavanshi survives and even takes a single to move into the Orange Cap lead. Jurel struggles to get going for a couple of balls before nudging a single.

But Mohsin finally gets his breakthrough. Mixing up the pace cleverly, he deceives Sooryavanshi, who holes out to Abdul Samad in the deep.

A stunning innings comes to an end -- Sooryavanshi falls for 93 off just 38 balls, missing out on a century. Only 3 runs and a wicket come from the over, and after 14 overs Rajasthan Royals are 180/2, needing 41 from 36 balls.

image
RR 166-1 (12 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Mayank Yadav returns to the attack, but Rajasthan Royals completely take over the game in a brutal over.

Dhruv Jurel starts the assault with a boundary and then launches back-to-back sixes, putting the bowler instantly under pressure. After a single to long-on, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi joins the party.

The youngster smashes a huge six before sending the next one even further -- the biggest hit of the night -- as the crowd erupts in Jaipur.

It turns into a nightmare over for LSG, with 29 runs coming off it. After 12 overs, Rajasthan Royals are flying at 166/1 and now need just 55 runs from 48 balls.

Sooryavanshi smashes 23-ball 50

image

RR 137-1 (11 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Rajasthan Royals continue to stay firmly on top of the chase as Digvesh Rathi returns to bowl.

Dhruv Jurel starts the over with a single to backward square leg before Vaibhav Sooryavanshi calmly nudges one to short third man to bring up a superb fifty off just 23 balls.

After the earlier fireworks, the pair briefly settle into strike rotation, picking up singles around the ground. But the over ends with a bang as Jurel launches a six to keep RR's momentum rolling. 11 runs come from it, and after 10 overs RR are 121/1, needing exactly 100 from 60 balls.

Prince Yadav is brought back into the attack, but RR continue to dictate terms. Jurel pulls one for a single before a wide down the leg side adds to the pressure. The batters rotate strike comfortably, and there's a brief moment of drama when Jurel appears caught at point off a low full toss, only for the third umpire to confirm the ball had bounced before reaching the fielder.

Then comes the Sooryavanshi show again.

The youngster launches back-to-back sixes, bringing up his 50th six of the IPL season in stunning fashion. The crowd erupts as RR tighten their grip on the chase.

16 runs come off the over, and after 11 overs Rajasthan Royals are cruising at 137/1, needing just 84 from 54 balls.

Sooryavanshi tears into LSG attack

image

RR 110-1 (9 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Rajasthan Royals continue their strong chase as Digvesh Rathi is introduced into the attack.

Dhruv Jurel gets into rhythm quickly, starting with a crisp boundary before rotating strike with a couple of quieter deliveries. He then finds the fence again with another well-timed shot, as RR keep the scoreboard moving despite two dot balls to finish the over. It's 8 runs from it, and after 8 overs RR are 84/1.

Akash Singh continues but is taken on immediately by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The youngster launches a six first up, follows it with a boundary, and even when he miscues one, it still finds the gap for four.

Sooryavanshi then brings out another six and races to 45 off just 21 balls. A couple of wides add to LSG's frustration as he nears his fifty in style, finishing the over on 49 off 22 balls.

It's a brutal passage of play -- 26 runs from the over, and after 9 overs Rajasthan Royals are flying at 110/1.
22:20

Akash strikes as Jaiswal departs for 43

image

RR 76-1 (7 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Rajasthan Royals suffer a setback as Akash Singh strikes back into the attack.

Yashasvi Jaiswal starts the over confidently, finding a boundary after a sharp shot through the off side. But just when he looks set, disaster strikes -- he edges one behind, and Rishabh Pant makes no mistake behind the stumps. Jaiswal departs for 43 off 23 balls.

Dhruv Jurel walks in next and is immediately tested, missing one before getting a thick bottom edge that just evades the fielders for a single.

It's a mini-wobble for RR -- 5 runs and a wicket come off the over, and after 7 overs they are 76/1, needing 145 from 78 balls as the chase takes a slightly different shape.
22:12

Royals blaze to 71-0 in powerplay

image

RR 71-0 (6 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Prince Yadav is introduced into the attack.

Yashasvi Jaiswal swings and misses first up but quickly settles, driving one through the covers for a single to rotate strike.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi then takes charge, smashing a huge six followed by a crisp boundary to keep the pressure firmly on the bowler. He looks in attacking rhythm, but then mistimes one straight to cover and fails to add more.

Jaiswal finishes the over with a boundary, ensuring another productive one for RR -- 15 runs come off it, and after 6 overs they are 71/0, needing 150 from 84 balls.

A strategic timeout is now taken as both sides regroup at a key moment in the chase.
22:08

50 comes up for Royals

RR 56-0 (5 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Rajasthan Royals continue to build momentum in their chase as Yashasvi Jaiswal takes full control against Mohsin Khan.

Mohsin is welcomed in brutal fashion -- Jaiswal launches a huge six first up, then follows it with a boundary and another four to complete a hat-trick of boundaries. He looks completely in command, racing to 36 off just 14 balls and putting the bowlers under serious pressure.

After the early onslaught, Mohsin manages to pull things back slightly, keeping the rest of the over quieter as Jaiswal is eventually restricted to a single to finish. Still, it's a costly over -- 19 runs come off it, and RR move to 49/0 after 4 overs.

Mayank Yadav continues from the other end and starts with pace and aggression. Jaiswal swings and misses once but still keeps the scoreboard ticking with a single, bringing up the team fifty.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi then tries to join the charge, driving towards point but is sent back, before missing one and then finally announcing himself with a clean six -- his first of the night.

The over ends with a dot, and just 7 runs come from it. After 5 overs, Rajasthan Royals are 56/0, needing 165 from 90 balls as the chase gathers pace.
21:59

Jaiswal-Sooryavanshi keep RR moving

RR 30-0 (3 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Rajasthan Royals continue their chase with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal at the crease, as Mohsin Khan starts with disciplined pace and bounce.

Mohsin opens with a sharp bouncer that Sooryavanshi comfortably ducks, before the youngster gets off the mark with a single after a couple of tight deliveries. Jaiswal, meanwhile, is forced to stay cautious, dealing with another rising ball on the back foot as the bowlers keep things tight early on.

There's a worrying moment when Jaiswal appears to be in discomfort, with attention given to his left wrist, but he continues after a brief check.

After two overs, RR are 25/0 -- matching LSG's start in terms of scoring pattern, though slightly more controlled.

Mayank Yadav then comes into the attack and keeps the pressure on. Jaiswal nudges a single, while Sooryavanshi struggles to time the ball before finally breaking free with a boundary.

But Mayank responds quickly, beating him with pace and forcing a dot ball to finish the over.

After 3 overs, RR are 30/0, needing 191 from 102 balls in a steady but developing chase.
21:49

Jaiswal goes ballistic in first over

image

RR 23-0 (1 Ovs) vs LSG 220-5 | SCORECARD

Rajasthan Royals get their chase off to a flying start as Yashasvi Jaiswal goes on the attack from ball one against Akash Singh.

Akash begins with a wide, and Jaiswal immediately punishes anything short or loose, smashing a hat-trick of boundaries to set the tone early. The left-hander looks in full flow as the powerplay turns into a nightmare for the bowlers.

Another wide down the leg side adds to the pressure, with even Rishabh Pant unable to gather cleanly behind the stumps as extras pile up. Akash does briefly regain control with a tighter delivery, but Jaiswal stays patient, keeping it down and refusing risky runs.

There's more chaos in the field as a misfield from Mayank allows another boundary to leak at the end of the over.

A brutal first over for LSG's bowling unit -- 23 runs come off it, and Rajasthan Royals are already off to a strong start in their chase of 198 from 114 balls.

Marsh misses ton as LSG finish at 220-5

image

LSG 220-5 (20 Ovs) vs RR | SCORECARD

Lucknow Super Giants were well placed to push towards 250 at one stage, but a strong finish from the bowlers dragged them back to 220/5 in 20 overs.

What looked like a big total in the making was checked by disciplined death bowling, with Jofra Archer standing out. He mixed pace and hit the right lengths at the end to keep the scoring under control and trigger key wickets.

For LSG, Mitchell Marsh was once again the standout performer, falling just short of a century with a fluent 96 off 57 balls. His clean striking and control through the innings gave LSG their platform, but they couldn't fully capitalise in the final overs.

Marsh misses ton as LSG finish at 220-5

image

LSG 220-5 (20 Ovs) vs RR| SCORECARD

Lucknow Super Giants suffer a dramatic late collapse as Jofra Archer delivers a sensational final over.

Chaos begins early when Rishabh Pant is run out for 35 off 23 balls after a mix-up with Mitchell Marsh. Pant wants the strike, but Marsh refuses to move. Dhruv Jurel reacts quickly, and Archer completes the dismissal with a sharp hit at the stumps.

New batter Abdul Samad arrives as Archer keeps the pressure on, mixing pace and bounce. Marsh struggles initially, missing three straight deliveries and even surviving a couple of reviews -- one for a wide and another for caught behind, both going RR's way and not upheld.

Just when he tries to rebuild, Marsh gets a lifeline on 95 but cannot convert it into a hundred. Attempting a risky second run, he is run out for 96 off 57 balls thanks to sharp work from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jurel.

Archer finishes in style, bowling a perfect yorker to dismiss the final batter, Ayush Badoni.

A stunning end to the innings -- just 5 runs and 3 wickets come off the final over. After 20 overs, Lucknow Super Giants finish at 220/5.
21:15

LSG smash past 200 in style

LSG 215-2 (19 Ovs) vs RR| SCORECARD

Lucknow Super Giants continue to pile on the runs as the innings heads into the final stages.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi comes onto the field as Impact Substitute, getting a feel of the conditions ahead of the chase, while Yash Raj Punja goes off.

Sushant Mishra continues his spell but starts with control as Rishabh Pant takes a single. Mitchell Marsh survives a nervy moment when a lofted shot hangs in the air, but Yashasvi Jaiswal cannot get there in time for the catch -- a missed opportunity.

Marsh then collects another single before Mishra nails a yorker. Pant responds by driving straight back, but a wide follows down the leg side. Then comes the big moment -- a full toss and Pant makes no mistake, smashing it for a huge six.

A leg bye adds to the total before Marsh finishes the over with a single. It's another productive one, with 11 runs coming off it. After 19 overs, Lucknow Super Giants are 215/2 and firmly in control.

Jofra Archer is introduced into the attack, but the runs keep flowing. Marsh picks up a single, and Pant follows with a cheeky boundary. He misses the next two deliveries before rotating strike with a single, bringing up 200 for LSG. Marsh then squeezes one through the leg side for four to cap off the over.

Another 10 runs come from it, and after 18 overs Lucknow Super Giants move to 204/2, finishing strongly as the innings heads into the death overs.

Rishabh Pant starts cautiously, working one down to midwicket for a single, while Mitchell Marsh follows with a shot towards long-on for another run.

Pant then breaks free, finally timing one cleanly as he launches a huge six, before rotating strike with a single. A wide follows, adding to the extras.

Marsh then punishes a full-toss over the waist -- initially called a no-ball -- smashing a boundary to keep the pressure on. The over ends with a dot ball.

A costly one overall: 17 runs come off it. After 16 overs, Lucknow Super Giants are 182/2 and still in a strong position.
20:50

Punja strikes again as Pooran departs

LSG 165-2 (15 Ovs) vs RR| SCORECARD

Lucknow Super Giants are being held in check as the bowlers finally claw things back after a dominant start.

Brijesh Sharma returns and keeps things tight. Rishabh Pant picks up a single off the pads, before a wide adds an extra run. Mitchell Marsh swings and misses next up, followed by a leg bye as RR build pressure. Pant tries to break free by charging down the track but is beaten. Just a single comes off the final ball -- a much better over for RR, only 4 runs conceded. After 14 overs, LSG are 160/2.

Yash Raj Punja continues and keeps the squeeze on. Pant gets a single, Marsh is shut down for a dot, and then mistimes a pull straight to the fielder. The batters are forced into rotating strike, with singles all around.

Only 5 runs come from the over, and after 15 overs LSG are 165/2, as RR finally regain some control.

LSG 156-2 (13 Ovs) vs RR| SCORECARD

Lucknow Super Giants continue their strong charge as Sushant Mishra returns into the attack. Mitchell Marsh looks steady early on, defending the first ball before picking up a single.

He then misses a swing and is beaten for a dot, but quickly responds in trademark fashion -- smashing a boundary, and then another to close the over. It's 12 runs from it, and after 12 overs LSG are 149/1.

Yash Raj Punja is brought back and strikes again, as Nicholas Pooran looks to go down the ground but fails to time it properly. Ferreira settles under it and completes a good catch, sending Pooran back for 16 off 11 balls.

Rishabh Pant walks in next and gets off the mark with a single, while Marsh also rotates strike. Marsh finishes the over with a couple of runs as LSG continue to push forward.

The over yields 7 runs and a wicket, and after 13 overs Lucknow Super Giants are 156/2.

LSG 137-1 (11 Ovs) vs RR| SCORECARD

Lucknow Super Giants continue to dominate as Dasun Shanaka is introduced into the attack.

Mitchell Marsh starts confidently, driving one straight down the ground for a couple before bringing up a well-compiled fifty off just 25 balls with a crisp boundary.

He looks in complete control, but nearly throws it away on the next delivery, mistiming a lofted shot that hangs in the air for a long time. Lhuan-dre Pretorius runs in from deep mid-wicket but puts down a tough chance.

A wide follows, adding to the pressure on the bowler. Nicholas Pooran then rotates strike with a sweep to cover, before Marsh finishes the over with a single.

10 runs come off it, and after 11 overs Lucknow Super Giants are cruising at 137/1.

image
LSG 127-1 (10 Ovs) vs RR| SCORECARD

Lucknow Super Giants continue their commanding start as Brijesh Sharma keeps things tight early on, with Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis rotating strike comfortably through singles.

There is a brief concern as Brijesh Sharma appears to be struggling, prompting a visit from the physio, but he is cleared to continue bowling.

Marsh initially plays it safe, defending one delivery back to the bowler before picking up a single towards cover. But he finishes the over in style, launching a huge six to bring up a dominant 100 for LSG.

After 8 overs, Lucknow Super Giants are cruising at 105 without loss, firmly in control of the innings.

Lucknow Super Giants finally get a breakthrough as Yash Raj Punja strikes in a big moment.

Earlier in the over, Josh Inglis had started in familiar fashion, cracking a boundary to keep the momentum going.

But Punja fights back immediately -- and it works. Inglis, looking to go big again, goes down on one knee to swipe it over deep midwicket, but he is completely deceived in the air. The ball goes straight through and crashes into the stumps.

A superb knock comes to an end -- Inglis departs for 60 off just 29 balls. Punja's persistence is rewarded, and RR finally have something to celebrate in an otherwise tough innings.

Lucknow Super Giants bring in Nicholas Pooran as the new batter, and he makes an instant impact. After defending the first couple of deliveries, Pooran switches gears and launches a massive six, before rotating strike with a single to close the over.

It’s 11 runs and a wicket from the over, and after 9 overs LSG are 116/1.

Sushant Mishra is brought back into the attack, but struggles with his line to start -- conceding two wides and then another as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jofra Archer step in to steady him.

He eventually finds better rhythm, forcing a leg bye and then finally producing a rare dot ball under pressure. Mitchell Marsh picks up a single towards long-on.

But Pooran is back at it again -- smashing another huge six to keep LSG’s momentum going. Two dots close out the over, which goes for 11 runs.

After 10 overs, Lucknow Super Giants are 127/1 and still firmly in control.

Sandeep Sharma continues from the other end, but the flow doesn't slow. Josh Inglis picks up a single before Marsh does the same. image
LSG 54-0 (4 Ovs) vs RR| SCORECARD

Lucknow Super Giants openers continue to dominate as the Powerplay pressure mounts on the opposition.

Jofra Archer keeps things tight at the start of the over, but a miscue from Josh Inglis still manages to trickle away for three runs. He soon finds rhythm again, though, cracking a crisp boundary. Mitchell Marsh joins in with a powerful four of his own as the bowlers struggle to contain the flow. A couple of singles follow to finish the over. After three overs, LSG are 38 without loss, with 13 coming off that over.

Another four races away despite two fielders giving chase, before Inglis launches a towering six to bring up a rapid fifty for LSG. A sharp single keeps the scoreboard moving, and Marsh nearly gets into trouble with a close run-out chance that misses a direct hit.

There's a big appeal later in the over as Inglis is struck on the pads while attempting a wild swing across the line, but the umpire shakes his head and RR choose not to review. The over costs 16 runs, and after four overs, LSG are flying at 54 without loss.

Royals pay for costly drop

image

LSG 25-0 (2 Ovs) vs RR| SCORECARD

Rajasthan Royals skipper Yashasvi Jaiswal had his men well set in the field as Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis walked out to open for the opposition. Marsh took strike, with Jofra Archer steaming in with a slip in place.

Marsh got going straightaway, nudging one off the thigh pad for a leg bye to get off the mark. Inglis then struggled for timing -- first miscuing a pull towards mid-wicket, then surviving a testing delivery that beat him on the outside edge.

But the big moment came soon after when Inglis got a top edge on a pull shot, only for a simple chance to go down. Sushant Mishra had to backpedal, but it should have been taken -- a costly early lapse for RR.

Marsh made them pay immediately, cracking a boundary and then finishing the over in style with a massive six. A lively first over, with 12 runs on the board and an early missed opportunity for the fielding side.

Sushant Mishra starts from the other end but immediately slips up with a wide.

Josh Inglis then breaks free, smashing a massive six to send the ball into the stands. Another wide follows, and he looks a bit rushed under pressure as the fielders try to settle him down, with Sandeep Sharma and Jofra Archer working to calm things in the field.

Inglis briefly takes a calmer route, leaving the next ball before playing it back to the bowler. But he soon shifts gears again, threading a crisp boundary after a quiet moment.

A single off the last ball closes the over. After two overs, LSG are 25 without loss, with 13 coming from the second over.

RR opt to bowl first vs LSG

image

Rajasthan Royals will be led by Yashasvi Jaiswal tonight, with regular captain Riyan Parag rested due to a left hamstring niggle.

The captains are out in the middle for the toss. Jaiswal steps up to flip the coin, while Rishabh Pant calls heads -- but it comes down tails.

Jaiswal wastes no time after winning the toss and opts to bowl first.

Rajasthan Royals will field first in Jaipur.

Rajasthan Royals, still in the hunt for a playoff spot, made three changes to their XI for this crucial clash.

Stand-in skipper Yashasvi Jaiswal said the pitch looks good for batting but expects dew to come into play later, and also confirmed that regular captain Riyan Parag is recovering from a hamstring niggle.

Jaiswal added that it’s a strong day for cricket and the team is focused on making the most of the opportunity as they fight to stay alive in the tournament.

On the other side, Lucknow Super Giants, who have already been eliminated from playoff contention, made two changes to their lineup.

Skipper Rishabh Pant said the side is simply looking to finish the season on a positive note, confirming a few adjustments including the absence of Aiden Markram and Mohammed Shami, with Mohsin Khan and Ayush Badoni coming into the XI.

Pitch report

It's a hot day in excess of 40°C, and conditions are set for another high-scoring match. The pitch looks flat, hard, and perfect for batting, with short enough boundaries to keep the runs flowing.

Pitch experts Eoin Morgan and Danny Morrison say this surface should produce plenty of runs, just like the only game played here this season, where 228 was scored and chased comfortably.

With tired legs and a long tournament behind them, bowlers are expected to struggle. The toss could be crucial -- teams will likely prefer to chase, and anything under 230 while batting first may not be enough.

RR vs LSG: Royals in must-win clash to stay alive

image

Rajasthan Royals head into their clash against Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur on Tuesday knowing there is no room left for error.

Their playoff hopes are hanging by a thread, and another defeat could all but end their season.

It has been a frustrating campaign for RR, especially at home where they are still searching for a win at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. While 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has given them explosive starts, the batting unit has struggled to build on it. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been inconsistent, and the middle order featuring Dhruv Jurel and captain Riyan Parag has shown flashes without real control.

Their recent loss to Delhi Capitals summed up the season -- a strong position slipping away because of a lower-order collapse, poor fielding, and missed chances at key moments. Even Parag admitted afterwards that the team simply hasn't been consistent enough when it matters most.

LSG, meanwhile, arrive without playoff pressure but with something to prove. A recent win over Chennai Super Kings gave them a lift, with Mitchell Marsh playing a match-winning knock.

Rishabh Pant, however, is still searching for rhythm in a season where he hasn't quite settled into a fixed role.

One side is fighting to stay alive, the other to salvage pride -- and that contrast sets up a tense evening in Jaipur.
