Washington Sundar was brought back into the attack, but the South African batters played him safely, nudging the ball around for singles. The over produced six singles as South Africa moved to 134/4 after 14 overs.
Drinks were then taken. Hardik Pandya returned to the attack after the break.
Tristan Stubbs immediately found a gap for a quick single, before David Miller sliced a boundary past third man. Miller followed it with a single to keep the strike rotating. Stubbs then attempted to drive straight back, but Hardik reacted quickly, sticking out his right hand to stop the ball. Stubbs later punched one wide of long-off for a couple, and another two runs came off the final delivery.
10 runs came from the over, taking South Africa to 144/4 after 15 overs.
