Some rearguard from Rutherford (28 off 13) propels Delhi to 187 for 5 in their 20 overs before Dhawan and Iyer struck fifties to give Delhi a good momentum up front and in the middle.

Delhi scored a massive 46 runs in the last three overs despite losing wickets in the middle. 


Saini comes on to bowl the final over and he starts with a wide that Rutherford slashes at and the ball goes down to third man for a four.

He gets another edge and the ball goes wide off a diving Parthiv to the third man boundary.

Umesh continues and after a dot, Dhawan smashes the ball straight down the ground through long-on for a four.

Slower ball next and Dhawan comes down the track, the ball is airborne but the mid-off fielder does not manage to hold on to the ball. He gets a life and a single.

The batsmen then take a single each as 7 come off the over.




Navdeep Saini comes into the attack, he bowls a half-volley and Dhawan just picks it up and smashes it over the leg side for a six!

Shaw then plays it through point for a four.

Shaw then gets an edge and is caught by Parthiv as he goes for 18. 


Chahal brought early into attack and Dhawan comes down the pitch and smashes it straight in to sightscreen for a six.

After two dots, Dhawan then pulls the ball to fine leg for a four.

A single later, Shaw smashes it over mid-on for 4.

Delhi captain Iyer wins toss and elects to bat against Bangalore on Sunday.


A win will ensure Delhi, currently third behind Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, reach the cut-off limit of 16 points, needed for a play-off berth.

Delhi's performance at home is woeful, but having registered a win after two consecutive losses at the Kotla, the Shreyas Iyer-led outfit is high on confidence.


RCB will not be short on confidence either; the side seems to have regrouped successfully and found their groove. They won their last three games, defeating Kolkata Knight Riders, table toppers CSK and Kings XI Punjab. The victories briefly lifted them from the bottom of the table to the penultimate spot. They have eight points from 11 games.
