Inflation rises to 4.2%

Inflation based on the wholesale price index rose marginally to 4.2 per cent for the week ended November 12, from 4.14 per cent in the previous week mainly due to the rise in prices of minerals and non-food essential items.

The inflation was at 7.68 per cent in the year-ago period.

The government revised upwards the inflation figure to 4.17 per cent for the week ended September 17 from the provisional figure of 3.75 per cent.
