In a bid to boost its revenue in the LPG segment, public sector Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd will soon launch more value-added products such as domestic water heaters and mini generators powered by gas, a senior company official said in Chennai.
According to P K Ragunathan, BPCL chief manager, the prototype models for the appliances had already been fabricated and the products would be formally launched very soon.
Leading manufacturer Honda had been approached for production of gas-operated generators, he said adding BPCL had already launched gas lanterns in rural markets two months back, priced at Rs 275 each.
He said the company's health cards, a value-addition to its LPG customers, offering discounts in hospital bills, had gained popularity with 200,000 new customers joining the Bharat Gas fold.
The company's LPG market share in the southern region was 24.5 per cent with over 5.3 million customers, he said.
