Flash floods triggered by heavy raifall have thrown life out of gear for thousands of families since the last two days in several parts of Guwahati city. K Anurag reports.
With the fresh fatalities, the total number of people losing their lives in this year's flood and landslides across the state has gone up to 42.
More than 39.8 lakh people in 27 of the 33 districts in the state were affected by the deluge on Thursday.

The death toll in Assam in the current flood rose to 30 on Wednesday with 14 bodies recovered from worst-affected Goalpara and Kamrup (rural) districts even as relief and rescue work continued round-the-clock.
At least 15 people have died in heavy floods and landslides triggered by continuous rain for the last three days in Assam, where airforce helicopters, army, National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force have been pressed into service for rescue work, officials said.
