Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and his family members on Saturday appeared before a Central Bureau of Investigation court here in connection with a case of alleged kickback in illegal mining.
A Bengaluru court on Wednesday reserved orders on the anticipatory bail applications of former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and his family members apprehending arrest in the illegal mining case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation against them.
A Central Bureau of Investigation court in Bangalore on Tuesday adjourned to June 1 hearing on the anticipatory bail petitions of former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and his kin who apprehended arrest in an illegal mining case.
The Karnataka Lokayukta police on Tuesday carried out searches at the four offices of Sohan Kumar, son-in-law of former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, in connection with the land denotification issue.
The Lokayukta Court on Saturday issued summons to former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and five others to appear before it on March 3 for their alleged involvement in an illegal land denotification case. Besides Yeddyurappa, Lokayukta Judge N K Sudhindra Rao also issued summons to Yeddyurappa's sons B Y Raghavendra, B Y Vijayendra, his son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar, former minister Krishnaiah Setty and directors of Dhavalagiri Properties Limited.
The Karnataka high court on Thursday issued notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation on the anticipatory bail petitions filed by former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and his family members in the illegal mining case.
Justice H Billappa allowed bail applications moved by Yeddyurappa, his two sons B Y Raghavendra, a Lok Sabha member and B Y Vijayendra and his son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar who had apprehended arrest in two private complaints filed against them in the Lokayukta special court.
"The Chief Minister asked his son B Y Vijendra and daughter Umadevi to shift from his Race Course official residence on Wednesday and they obliged him immediately," an official attached to Chief Minister's secretariat told PTI.
The Karnataka Lokayukta Police on Monday registered an FIR against former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and his family members in connection with the anti-corruption watchdog's report into illegal mining. Besides Yeddyurappa, his sons B Y Raghavendra, B Y Vijendra and son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar and others have been named in the FIR under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Lokayukta sources said.
'Justice is done, I stand vindicated...' Yeddyurappa tweeted.
Of the 18 other ex-workers, who had been convicted of various other offences like violence, rioting and attempt to murder, four have been given a sentence of 5 years.
