Union Home Minister Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde continued with his official visit in the United States, meeting senior US government leaders including Secretary for Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, Attorney General Eric Holder and FBI Director Robert Muller.
"Agents from FBI offices in New Delhi and Islamabad joined forces with Indian government, the CIA, the State Department, MI-6 and New Scotland Yard," he said. Through these partnerships, Muller said: "We had unprecedented access to evidence and intelligence. Agents and analysts conducted more than 60 interviews, including that of the lone surviving attacker.
Terming the Mumbai terror attacks as "successful" from the perspective of terrorists, top United States intelligence official has warned that such strikes could be replicated in the US and other parts of the world.
The United States senate on Tuesday confirmed the nomination of James Coney, a former Bush Administration official, as the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Coney, who was confirmed by 93-1 votes by the senate replaces, Robert Muller as the FBI director who served in this position for a decade.
Investigators have also been looking for any evidence of possible financial crimes by Trump associates.
