Dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, accused of killing their teenage daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj, on Tuesday approached the Supreme Court pleading that 14 witnesses be called to record statements in the trial court in the twin murder case.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar's plea against Central Bureau of Investigation for dropping its 14 witnesses in the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case trial.
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday began interrogating industrialist Ashok Todi in connection with the mysterious death of computer graphics teacher Rizwanur Rehman, who married Todi's daughter Priyanka.
Todi is the prime accused in the case. Todi's interroogation by CBI Joint director Arun Kumar and DIG S K Golcha began at 6.30 am and lasted for over ten hours. However, Todi refused to speak to the media when he left the CBI office here after the questioning. nehasish, a director in Todi's company, was questioned for an hour. It was alleged in a section of media that industrialist Ashok Todi had established secret contact with some relatives of the deceased and had given them money to facilitate the separation of his daughter, Priyanka, and Rizwanur.
Officials from the Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday interrogated Priyanka Todi, daughter of prime accused Ashok Todi and widow of Muslim computer graphics teacher Rizwanur Rahman, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances a few days after his marriage. According to CBI sources, Priyanka fully cooperated with the officers and answered all their questions. In the last four days, the CBI has interrogated more than 20 people and has obtained helpful clues.
Led by CBI joint director Arun Kumar, the seven-member team of the Central agency's special crime branch spent more than an hour near the railway tracks in the Patipukur area of Kolkata's northern fringe after taking over the investigation from the state CID following an order of Calcutta High Court. The team includes forensic experts.
Coming close on the heels of the recovery of charred bones and portions of skulls from five graves, the CBI has found more bones from a canal near a village at Nandigram.
According to him, it was the media that had put Pandher on trial. He also denied that Pandher was being saved because of his political connections.

A new video purportedly of the test conducted on Krishna has surfaced on social networking site YouTube which is 58.55-minute long. CBI sources claimed the agency, in its records, has only about 45 minutes of video of the test conducted on Krishna at Forensic Science Laboratory, Bengaluru.
