Additional Sessions Judge Raj Kumar Chauhan allowed a plea of Gulam Ahmed Khan, facing trial under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), to be released on bail. Khan sought bail on the ground that co-accused Farooq Ahmed Batloo had already been released by the Delhi High Court.
Tariq Ahmed Dar, guilty of being a member of a terror outfit and giving support to it, but let him off too, saying he has already undergone more than 10 years in jail, which is the maximum punishment prescribed under the law for these offences.
