A case of attempted rape has been registered against the former jailer of Baghpat District Jail following allegations by a female officer posted at the prison, officials said Thursday.
A video of the incident which occurred at around 6:25 AM shows a cow darting towards the road when it was hit by the vehicle carrying Ahmed. The cow fell near the road divider. After the incident, the vehicle stopped for a while before resuming the onward journey.
Fahim Ansari and Sabauddin, who were acquitted in the Mumbai terror attacks case recently, will soon be shifted from the Arthur Road jail in Mumbai to the central prison in Bareilly in connection with the 2007 attack on a Central Reserve Police Force group centre at Rampur in Uttar Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh gangster Om Prakash Srivastava, alias Babloo Srivastava, along with two others were sentenced to life imprisonment on Tuesday in connection with the murder of Income Tax Commissioner L D Arora in 1993 in Allahabad by a court in Kanpur. The court convicted Babloo, Kamal Kishore Saini and Manjit Singh, alias Mange, and handed down life imprisonment to them with a fine of Rs 10,000 each.
