The Allahabad high court has granted bail to three Kashmiri students, who were arrested on the sedition charge after they allegedly raised pro-Pakistan slogans following a cricket match in Agra last year.
District Judge G N Patel cleared the accused as there was no sufficient evidence to prove the charges brought against them by Gujarat's Anti-Terrorist squad. The ATS had arrested Nooruddin, Peer Ali, Haarish, Junaid, Zahid Khan of Ahmedabad and Altaf Sheikh, a Vadodara resident, in 2006.
In a development that may raise an alarm in the security establishment, flags of dreaded terror outfit ISIS along with those of Pakistan were today raised in Kashmir after which police promised a thorough probe and legal action against those involved.
The Valley, which was brought under a virtual curfew with communication networks snapped on August 5 after the government abrogated special status to Jammu and Kashmir, has seen little difference in the last seven weeks as public transport is still not available and schools waiting for students to collect assignments.
