The 2022 Qatar World Cup seems in jeopardy. After FIFA's Executive Committee member Theo Zwanziger said in September that the middle-east nation will not host the World Cup, a new report now backs a claim that FIFA chief Sepp Blatter is against Qatar hosting the tournament.

FIFA World Cup trophyIn a recent development to the already troubled Qatar World Cup 2022, a German magazine has claimed that FIFA president Sepp Blatter has confirmed Qatar would be stripped of its hosting rights chiefly due to Qatari Sheikh's support to terror group IS.

The German magazine reportedly cited a source, who claimed to have referred Qatar's ruler of being arrogant and those who believe they could do anything with their money, News.com.au reported.

However, FIFA was quick to respond to rubbish the report by saying that claims made by the sources are unfounded and Qatar would indeed host the 2022 World Cup, revealed in a FIFA statement.

The statement further mentioned that talks related to Qatar and the 2022 World Cup were briefly discussed during the FIFA president's visit to Oslo in October. Among the subject on which deliberation was held were a peace project -- a joint initiative between the Norwegian FA, the Nobel Peace Center and FIFA -- and the impending UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying match between Norway and Bulgaria.
