Leander Paes [ Images ] and Radek Stepanek overcame a stiff challenge from Kevin Anderson and Sam Querry to progress to the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters.
The fourth seeded Indo-Czech pair defeated the unseeded South African-American combination 6-4, 6-4 in little over an hour in the second round contest.
They next play Austria's Jurgen Melzer [ Images ] and Canada's [ Images ] Milos Raonic.
Paes-Stepanek did not face a single break-point in the match and broke once in each set.
Earlier in the day, the Indian doubles pair of Mahesh Bhupathi [ Images ] and Rohan Bopanna [ Images ] also entered the quarter-finals, beating Treat Huey and Jonathan Marray in straight sets.
The seventh seeds beat the unseeded American-British combo 7-6(9), 6-4 in 66 minutes.
