Dinesh Kumar had to settle for a silver in the men's boxing event in the Asian Games in Guangzhou on Thursday.

Uzbekistan's Elshod Rasulov beat the 22-year-old Indian 10-4 in the in the 81kg category.

Dinesh had earlier dispatched Nepal's Deepak Maharjan 7-1 to book his berth in the final.

Vikas Krishnan had earlier in the day won India's [ Images ] first gold in the 60kg category.

On Wednesday, Suranjoy Singh and Paramjeet Samota had to settle for the bronze.
