Former India players and Indian Hockey Federation chief K P S Gill reacted sharply to the news that IHF secretary-general K Jothikumaran accepted a bribe to have a player included in the national team.

Here are their reactions:

- It is shameful and I have no words to condemn such an act. We will seriously consider taking action against him: KPS Gill, president, Indian Hockey Federation.

- If it has happened, it is shameful. I don't have any comments to make on this: Merwyn Fernandes, former Olympian.

- I can tell you that this boy (Adam Sinclair) did not know how to hit the ball but Jothikumaran got him in and the then coach Gerhard Rach tutored him thrice a day to teach him the basics: Dhanraj Pillay, former India captain.
