Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Wednesday said he would meet Governor H R Bhardwaj soon to request him to convene the session of the state assembly early in June.

"I will meet the governor along with a few of my Cabinet colleagues to request him to allow us to start the assembly session," Yeddyurappa said in Delhi, before leaving for Bangalore.

He said it was for the second time that the state Cabinet has recommended the session dates.

"I hope today he is going to take a right decision and allow us to commence the assembly session from June 2," he said.

The chief minister refused to comment on the governor questioning the decision of the Speaker, who disqualifies 16 members of legislative assembly ahead of a crucial vote of confidence that Yeddyurappa narrowly survived.

"I need not say anything. I will discuss with the governor and only then I will get back to you," he said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded the recall of the governor after he recommended imposition of President's Rule in the state. The party has claimed that it has the support of 121 MLAs in the 224-member Karnataka assembly.
