Ten people and about 50 cattle head were killed in two separate fire incidents caused by dust storm in Mainpuri and Farrukhabad districts of Uttar Pradesh, reports reaching police headquarters said on Thursday.
At least 80 houses were gutted, the reports said.
The dust storm, which lashed several parts of the state on Wednesday also, also disrupted power and telephone lines, reports added.
Four women were killed in Farrukhabad's Bharehpur village and 70 houses were gutted in the district.
In another similar incident in Mugalpur village under Barnahal police station of Mainpuri, six people, including two women and a child, lost their lives, reports said.
The fire, which started from the kitchen of a house, soon spread due to speedy winds. Ten houses were gutted.
According to the reports, seven people were injured critically.
Senior district officials visited the affected villages to assess the situation, reports added.
