The body of software engineer B Kiran, who was shot dead in South Africa by a suspected robber, is likely to reach Hyderabad late on Thursday or early on Friday.

According to the information reaching his family in Arepally village of Warangal district, the post mortem and other formalities were completed at a Johannesburg hospital on Wednesday evening and arrangements were being made to send the body home.

According to the victim's brother Ganesh, an official of the Indian High Commission in Johannesburg had informed the family that all the arrangements were in place to send the body.

Kiran's last rites will be performed on Friday.

The state government has already announced that it will bear the expenditure of bringing back the body from South Africa.
Kiran, 28, was shot and injured by a robber near his home in Johannesburg on July 2. He succumbed to his injuries at a Johannesburg hospital five days later. Kiran's friend Sridhar, who was also injured in the incident, is still undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The Indian High Commission in South Africa has demanded a probe in the incident.
