A police official in Kharar has been booked for allegedly raping a 22-year-old girl from Manali in Himachal Pradesh.
Assistant Sub Inspector Balwinder Singh, who was on wireless duty, has been booked under the charges of rape at Kharar police station, said SAS Nagar SSP Ranbir Singh Khatra.
Khatra said Singh was arrested after the police received information of the rape.
The team managed to trace the victim and identify the accused cop, said Khatra.
