Dismissing reports that he had seen the CD purportedly showing former state finance minister Raghavji in a compromising situation, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday said the evidence in the case has not been tampered.

"I am saying with full authority that the evidence in the case was not being tampered with," Chouhan told reporters in the state assembly pressroom. "I have not seen the CD," he asserted.

Leader of Opposition in state Assembly, Ajay Singh had on Sunday said that Chouhan himself had reportedly seen the CD, which purportedly showed the scandal-hit minister Raghavji in a compromising position, which was objectionable. "If former Union law minister Ashwani Kumar can be asked to resign for having summoned a file from the Central Bureau of Investigation, Chouhan should also be asked to resign," he had demanded.

If in the Bharatiya Janata Party's view, Ashwani Kumar had tampered with evidence, then the same thing had been done by Chouhan by reportedly asking the police to provide the CD to him for watching it at his residence, Ajay had said.

Replying to questions by mediapersons, Chouhan said that the Bharatiya Janata Party had taken all actions required in the Raghavji case and there was nothing more for him to say in the case.

When asked if the government was trying to protect Raghavji, Chouhan said there was no question of doing so and the law will surely take its own course.

The state BJP unit on Sunday expelled 79-year-old Raghavji from its primary membership following sodomy allegations levelled against him by his domestic help even as police booked him in the matter. Raghavji was forced to resign from state Cabinet last week after his servant accused him of sexual abuse and a sleaze video CD allegedly showed him in the act.
