Pranab sidesteps political questions

Pranab Mukherjee [ Images ] the President in waiting dodged all questions pertaining to politics and said 'I am no longer a minister'. He was in Bangalore to interact with the electoral college seeking support for his candidature as President of India [ Images ].

When asked about the weak rupee and the economy, he said, "I am no longer the finance minister and hence I cannot comment on any issue." 

Pranab was, however, hopeful and stated that almost all political parties have endorsed his candidature. "Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda [ Images ] too has supported me. I am confident that all parties will support me. I would also appeal to all parties that have still not made a decision, to support me. That includes Mamata Banerjee [ Images ] too," he said in Bangalore.
