Corruption will be the theme of a two-day conclave of the Bhartiya Janata Party chief ministers being held in Mysore from May 10.
Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal may come under attack, as they are in news almost every week for corruption, impacting the party's nationwide drive launched to expose the United Progressive Alliance's government's corruption.
BJP President Nitin Gadkari's ideologue aide Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, who was earlier running Mhalgi Prabodhini in Mumbai for training the BJP leaders, has prepared a document for discussion and adoption in the conclave, on how to provide a corruption-free governance.
Though the party has been strongly defending both its chief ministers, Gadkari will impress upon the chief ministers that public image, as projected by the media is important, and suggest steps for the media management.
The conclave will also discuss how to overcome the anti-incumbency factors that the party may face in the assembly elections in the states it rules. A source said that a document has been prepared for the conclave, showing how Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal-United and BJP coalition government overcame this hurdle in the last elections.
