With fresh inputs on the Burdwan blast indicating pan-India existence of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh, Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday ordered immediate neutralisation of the terror modules of the banned group.

The directive came after National Security Advisor Ajit Doval briefed the Home Minister about the JMB's network in the country as well as people associated with it.

Doval, who visited the Burdwan blast site yesterday along with NSG chief Jayanta Choudhury and NIA chief Sharad Kumar, gave a detailed presentation to Singh about the findings of the explosion in the West Bengal town.

"The Home Minister directed the NSA to take urgent steps for immediate neutralisation of the terror modules," a Home Ministry official said.

Investigators probing the Burdwan blast case have found that 25-30 modules of the JMB are suspected to be spread out across the country, particularly in West Bengal, Assam and South India.

After visiting the blast site yesterday, Doval, chiefs of NSG and NIA, besides Special Secretary (Internal Security) Prakash Mishra also met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and briefed her about the JMB's operations in West Bengal and need for close coordination between Central and state agencies to check the activities of terror group.

Doval and the 3 top officials visited the room where the bomb exploded on October 2 killing two suspected terrorists. They also went to the room which had served as laboratory of the suspected terrorists.

The NIA had said the accused persons arrested in the Burdwan blast case and their associates were members of terror group JMB, who were preparing IEDs for transporting them to Bangladesh for possible terror attacks.

Two persons -- Shakil Ahmed and Suvon Mandal alias Subhan -- both hailing from Bangladesh, were killed while manufacturing IEDs. One person Abdul Hakim alias Hassan was injured and arrested besides three others including two women.
