National Democratic Alliance leaders held a march to the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday after holding a rare bell-ringing protest outside the sprawling sandstone building to lodge their protest with President A P J Abdul Kalam against the ruling United Progressive Alliance's handling of terrorism and economy.

Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Leader of the Opposition L K Advani, NDA convenor George Fernandes and other members of the opposition alliance marched into the presidential palace couple of hours before the start of the monsoon session of Parliament.

Women leaders banged steel plates with spoons as men rang hand-bells during their symbolic demonstration at Vijay Chowk leading to the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Led by Advani, the NDA marchers shouted 'down with UPA' and 'this government is useless' as they entered the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
