In their third meeting in July, External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh will be in London for discussions on Sunday with his G-4 counterparts on the issue of taking forward the framework resolution for expansion of the United Nations Security Council from 15 to 25.

The G-4 foreign ministers from India, Brazil, Germany and Japan will continue their consultations with their counterparts representing the African Union in London on Monday, the External Affairs Ministry stated in New Delhi on Friday.

The discussions take place close on the heels of the United States making it clear that it will oppose the G-4 resolution.

President George W Bush during his meeting earlier this week with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Washington had conveyed that the expansion of the UNSC should be taken up after other UN reforms.

Dr Singh had clarified that the US opposition to the G-4 resolution does not reflect any rejection of India's claim to permanent membership of the UNSC.

Natwar Singh and his counterparts from Japan -- Nobutaka Machimura, Germany -- Joschka Fischer, and Brazil -- Celso Luiz Nunes Amorim had met in New York on July 17 and in London before that.
