As the fate of Hindu and Sikh hostages held by Taliban remained unknown, a concerned All Pakistan Minorities Alliance has convened a meeting on February 28 to frame a strategy to protect their members.

The meeting will hold detailed discussions on the kidnapping and beheading of Sikh traders in the lawless tribal region.

The bodies of two Sikhs were found in the Khyber and Aurakzai regions after their kin failed to pay the ransom demanded by the militants who abducted them.

Prince Javed, a minority lawmaker of the North West Frontier Province assembly, said: "We have convened the meeting of the Alliance, which is a conglomeration of eight religious minorities, to deliberate on the emerging situation that is alarming for businessmen from the minority communities."

Javed said the meeting would also chalk out a joint strategy for the safe recovery of Sikhs who are still being held hostage and to avert such incidents in future.
