1.53 lakh people affected by floods in Bihar

More than 1.53 lakh people have been affected by the floods in Bihar's six districts.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday said in the state assembly that floods caused by heavy rains in neighbouring Nepal and discharge of water in rivers affected 1.53 lakh  people in 158
panchayats in six districts.

He said that floods mainly affected people in Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur and Supaul districts of the state.

Nitish Kumar said that government has directed concerned officials for rescue and relief operations in the flood-hit districts.
