J&K: 3 militants among 7 killed

Three militants were among seven persons killed across Jammu and Kashmir where security forces recovered a large quantity of arms and explosive since Saturday evening, a police spokesman said on Sunday.

Two militants of pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen were killed and an Army jawan was injured in an encounter between ultras and a joint party of police and security forces at village Ratsuna in Budgam district today, the spokesman said.

In a shocking incident, a militant stormed into the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences at Soura and shot dead an injured person inside the hospital, he said.

The ultra showered bullets on Reyaz Ahmad Shosha, who was under treatment at the hospital after sustaining injuries in a militant attack at Sopore on May 19.

Militants also shot dead one Fayaz Ahmad Najar (30) at his residence at Mumkak-Sopore in Baramulla district on Sunday. His brother Javed Ahmed Najar was injured in the incident.

Police recovered a body, believed to be of a militant, from Arhangi Dhok in Thanamandi in Poonch district today, the spokesman said. He said one Mohammad Yousuf Chechi was blown into pieces and one Mohammad Rafi was seriously injured when an explosive device went off in the forest area of Kitsan in Bandipore area of Baramulla district.

Militants shot at and critically injured one Bashir Ahmed Bhat at Kulgam in Anantnag district today. He succumbed on way to hospital, the spokesman said.

Security forces recovered seven AK rifles in the forest area of Khari Nallah in Surankote area of Poonch and 200 grams of explosive from a militant hideout at village Nihal-Mahore in Udhampur district, the spokesman said.
