Ansari, accompanied by wife Salma Ansari, was received at the airport of this new capital of Myanmar by General Maung Aye, number two in the country's ruling military junta.
The Vice President, who is leading a high-level delegation of businessmen and top public sector undertaking executives, was given a ceremonial welcome at the airport by the Myanmar armed forces.
He will hold one-to-one talks with Gen Aye, which will be followed by delegation level talks. The three agreements will encompass sectors including transport, telecommunication and industry.
The two countries will sign a Memorandum of Understanding for setting up an industrial training centre in Myanmar, while another accord will be between Tata Motors and Myanmar government for setting up a truck manufacturing unit in this country for which India has extended a credit line of $20 million.
Another MoU will be signed to establish a Centre for English Language Training in Myanmar to train students, civil servants, businessmen and professionals with language skills.
