Ahead of his march to Jaipur on Wednesday demanding quota in government jobs for members of his community, Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla was hospitalised on after he complained of uneasiness.

Bainsla had, on Sunday, announced a two-day sit-in in Dausa district's Bhandarej area and a march to Jaipur from there the next day if the government did not fulfil their reservation demand.

The Gujjar leader complained of uneasiness on Monday evening at the sit-in site and doctors examined him.

On Tuesday, he was taken to a private hospital at Sikar road in Jaipur and was hospitalised after some tests.

"I am sick but the march is still scheduled. I am hopeful of getting fine soon," Bainsla said.

Close aides of Bainsla, Roop Singh and Harprasad Gujjar, said the march call still stands and a final decision will be taken depending on Bainsla's health.

"Nobody has decided so far to cancel or postpone the march. Since Bainsla is our leader, any decision will be taken as per his direction," he said.

Doctors said Bainsla has pain in chest and abdomen and mild fever also.

"Some tests have been conducted and reports are awaited. At present, his condition is stable," they said.

Gujjars are demanding five per cent reservation in government jobs under the Special Backward Class category and withdrawal of cases against those involved in previous quota stirs.
