Navy chief Admiral Madhvendra Singh on Monday took over as the new chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee from army chief General Sundararajan Padmanabhan.
Gen Padmanabhan handed over the COSC baton to Adm Singh at a ceremony in the War Room of the army headquarters in New Delhi.
The three chiefs hold the post of the COSC in rotation.
