Congress gets papers in order for Pranab's Prez post bid

Nomination papers of Pranab Mukhejee, for the Presidential poll on July 19, are being readied, according to sources.

Senior Union ministers and Members of Parliament have been summoned to Parliament House on Wednesday to affix their signatures on Mukherjee's papers.

Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh, Defence Minister A K Antony, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal, Home Minister P Chidambaram, Human Resource Minister Kapil Sibal and Health Minister Gulam Nabi Azad
arrived at Parliament House at 11 am to sign the papers.

Congress plans to get fifteen nomination papers signed, ten with the signature of Union ministers and five from allies of the United Progressive Alliance. Special 'messengers' have taken the forms to Chennai to get the signature of DMK chief Karunanidhi.

Three members of the Legal Cell of the All India Congress Committee are carefully filling up the forms. A retired election commissioner and Rajya Sabha officials have also been engaged to assist the AICC officials with the technical details
