A chopper carrying Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday made an emergency landing in Kishtwar district shortly after take-off due to a technical problem, but no one was injured in the incident.

"The chopper carrying Omar Abdullah landed shortly after taking off from Kishtwar for Srinagar today. It had developed some technical problem," a senior police officer told PTI.

However, no one suffered an injury, he said, adding the chief minister later left by road for Srinagar, which is nearly 200 km from Kishtwar.

Omar had flown to Kishtwar town to address a public rally and lay the foundation stone of a tourist building.

He was accompanied by Minister of State for Home Sajjad Kitchloo and National Conference's provincial chief and Member of Legislative Assembly Devender Rana.
