'Dissatisfied' with the way government of India has been handling the border dispute with China in Arunachal Pradesh, influential All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union has sought an appointment with Chinese embassy officials to know Beijing's latest stand on the border state.

The AAPSU has claimed that the hardship faced by people of Arunachal Pradesh and the tension they have been living with because of lingering border dispute with China have compelled the organisation to seek an appointment with Chinese ambassador.

A letter has been sent to the Chinese embassy in New Delhi for the purpose. Copies of the letter have also been sent to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram.

A leader of the AAPSU said the people of Arunachal Pradesh were not at all satisfied with the way government of India was maintaining silence on repeated claim by China on Arunachal Pradesh.

The people of the frontier hill state have of late become very apprehensive about their future given that the 'Sino-Indian treaty' that was signed after the Chinese aggression in 1962 would expire next year on completion of 50 years.

"The people of Arunachal Pradesh are not aware of the content of the treaty and hence not sure about their future. We have the right to know about the details of the agreement that directly affect our life," the students' leader said while claiming to have aired the view of common people in the state.

Residents of Arunachal Pradesh are not allowed to visit China as they are issued stapled visa and the government of India has not been able to resolve the issue although it has been talking with China.

The AAPSU which has been holding protest demonstrations in Itanagar and in New Delhi on occasions to protest against China's claim over Arunachal Pradesh, rues that the Parliament hardly discusses the problems faced by people of Arunachal Pradesh because of the unresolved border dispute with China, though the issue is related to the security of the country.
