One person has been arrested in connection with the collapse of an under-construction building in Allahabad in which eight persons were killed.

Jaggu, brother-in-law of the building's owner Jamil Ahmed Khan, surrendered at the Civil Lines police station on Thursday night and was subsequently arrested, police said on Friday.

Besides Jamil, his nephew Shahid and Jaggi were named in a first information report lodged in connection with the collapse of the structure, which claimed eight lives and injured 20 others on Wednesday.
