Rape-accused BSP legislator gets 'chest pain'

Uttar Pradesh legislator Sribhagwan Sharma, alias Guddu Pandit, who was arrested in Noida on Sunday after a woman had lodged a rape and atrocities complaint against him, has been admitted to the Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh, following a complaint of chest pain.

The Bahujan Samaj Party  member was arrested by the Gautam Buddhanagar police from Sector 53 after the victim filed a case against him at the Kasganj police station in Kashiram Nagar district.

Sharma was referred to the Aligarh medical college from Kashiram district and was undergoing medical tests before being sent to jail, the senior superintendent of police of Aligarh Aseem Arun told UNI.

Guddu Pandit, who was taken to Kasganj on transit remand was produced before court which ordered to send him to judicial custody till July 10. He complained of chest pain before being sent to jail and was subsequently referred to Aligarh medical college.

The case was registered by the Kasganj police station for illegal confinement, threatening and conspiracy against Guddu Pandit under sections 420, 497, 342,323, 504, 506 and 120 B of the Indian Penal Code.
