Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid M Kasuri, who is on a private visit to India to attend the wedding of Minister for Panchayati Raj Mani Shankar Aiyar's daughter, said that the luncheon meeting between him and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee was good but no substantive issues were discussed.

Speaking to the press at Hyderabad House, the two leaders seemed satisfied with their meeting. "He is on a private visit," Mukherjee stressed.

Kasuri admitted that a lot of progress has been made between India and Pakistan during the talks in the last couple of years.

"There has been good progress in some areas and in others, we need to work more. We need to develop trust," he said.

He disclosed that Pranab Mukherjee would visit Pakistan on January 14 to invite President Musharraf for the SAARC meeting to be held in New Delhi in April next year.

Kasuri said he was happy to see a senior Congress leader in charge of the external affairs ministry as it will help in the task that the two sides are engaged in.

Kasuri said he had developed trust with Mukherjee's two predecessors -- Natwar Singh and Yashwant Sinha -- whom he met during the last two days.

"I am looking forward to developing similar trust with him (Mukherjee)," the Pakistani Foreign Minister told the media persons but no questions were taken by either of them.
