Landslides block Mumbai-Goa road August 04, 2004 17:46 IST Landslides triggered by incessant rains at Sukheki Khind on the Mumbai-Goa road, 55 km from Alibaug, led to the closure of the national highway on Wednesday.
Three persons were rescued from a private bungalow, which was surrounded by flood waters, at village Damote in the district, police said. Mahad town remained cut off from the rest of the word for the third consecutive day. The bridge connecting Khopoli-Pali via Gambhulpada at Gambhulpada was submerged under four to six feet of water from the river Amba.
