Selvaraghavan burst onto the Tamil film scene with a bang with Kaadal Kondein. The film, which had his younger brother Dhanush and Sonia Agarwal in the lead, was a huge success. So was his next film 7G Rainbow Colony with Sonia Agarwal and Arvind Krishna in the lead. His third film Pudupettai also had Dhanush and Sonia Agarwal in the lead along with Sneha.

He fell for his leading lady Sonia Agarwal and married her but the marriage didn't last long.

Having made five films in seven years, Selvaraghavan is considered one of the brightest young film-makers in Tamil.

While shooting for his latest film Erandam Ulagam, he fell in love with his assistant Geetanjali and married her on July 2 in Chennai, the day Karthi got married in Coimbatore. Incidentally, Karthi played the lead role in Selva's last film Aayirathil Oruvan.

Though super star Rajnikanth is still recuperating in Singapore, his elder daughter Aishwarya came down with her husband Dhanush to be a part of Selva's wedding.

Selvaraghavan was to direct Kamal Haasan's latest film Viswaroopam, but the two reportedly couldn't see eye to eye and now Kamal himself will direct the film.
