M F Husain is no more with us but he gave Bollywood two beautiful films Gaja Gamini and Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities.
The music of both the films had an out-of-this-world charm about them, just like his paintings and strongly reflected his aesthetic faculties. The way his muses moved in the songs to the dream-like quality of the tunes, they were a reflection of a great artist.
Here, we look at some of songs form his film.
Noor Un Ala from Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities
The idyllic song was composed by A R Rahman and really is soul-stirring.

Meenaxi is a love story in three cities Jaipur, Hyderabad, Prague. This particular song was picturised in Jaipur and sees the breathtaking Tabu perform in a surreal sequence about love.

M F Husain's first feature film had his first muse Madhuri Dixit as the leading lady. Husain fell in love with Madhuri after watching Hum Aapke Hain Koun.
This song has Madhuri -- the dancer in full form as she strikes mudras and dances to some classical tunes with abandon.
Husain's first film truly manifested an artist's understanding of performing arts as the camera captured Madhuri from all beautiful angles. Bhupen Hazarika praises Madhuri's beauty through the song.
