Cinema and art are his passions. "Cinema is a complete medium. It uses all the mediums -- art, literature, music, dance..." says Maqbool Fida Husain. The veteran czar of Indian art continues to colour his canvas with incredible zest and indefatigable energy.

The latest on his front is a short series of paintings based on Nagesh Kukunoor's Iqbal. He was so moved by the movie (he saw a preview screening) that he chose to surprise everyone by unveiling eight paintings based on it at the film's Mumbai premiere.

He did six more black and white paintings practically in a few hours in Hyderabad, which he showed at his Cinema Ghar museum of art and cinema.
