Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds is all set to enter the Bigg Boss 5 house on Wednesday.

This is the first time that an international cricketer will enter the reality show.

Even though a language barrier stands between him and his ability to win the hearts of the viewers, Andrew is certain that it will not prove to be a problem, given that he is already a household name.

He tells Rajul Hegde why he decided to enter the show.

What made you take up Bigg Boss?

I decided to take up Bigg Boss as a challenge. India has been good to me and I have been traveling to India for over 20 years.
I have not seen any of the previous episodes because I don't want to enter with a biased opinion of the housemates. I hope to have a lot of fun inside the house and learn more about Indian culture that I find very fascinating.

I am also looking at this as an opportunity to showcase the Australian culture which involves fun activities like barbecues and throwing people into the pool! While playing cricket, we have to be serious about the game but in the house, I will be relaxed.

Are you coming on this show to clear the controversy with Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh?

I am not going on the show to correct anything. I am happy with the way I'm living now.

What kind of equation do you have with Harbhajan Singh?

Bhajji and I have spoken and worked out our differences. We are in regular touch with each other and catch up as often. Being a part of the same team helped us sort our differences and today, we are great friends. We party, we get sloshed. If he enters in the house with me, I promise to gel well with him.

Is there any particular Indian cricketer you would like to see inside the house?

Rohit Sharma. He is a fun person to be with and also, a good friend.

Will language be a problem inside the house?

My Hindi is very poor but I would understand the conversations. I hope to learn this lingo a bit through this show, and I wish people around would teach me.

You will be locked inside the house, cut off from everything for a few days.

That's probably one of the biggest challenges for me. I am used to hunting and fishing.

I will try to cheer people around me if someone is feeling down or having an argument

Do you know Sunny Leone is one of the housemates?

Yes. I have seen her in the industry. I am not offended by the choice of her living. I will get to know her. I hope she is a fun girl and we can enjoy staying together.

Are you okay with doing household chores?

Yes.

How much do you know about the hosts of the show, Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan?

I did try to learn about the contestants, hosts and the show. I hope I will get to know the hosts during the course of the show. One of them has done a comedy movie, so I hope he would be a good person.

Have you watched any Hindi films?

I do not understand the language much, so I can't see the entire movies.

Bollywood has a lot of dancing and colours. I like their passion. At times, people recommend movies to me but due to the language problem, I don't understand it.

What do you think of Sachin completing his hundredth 100?

I wish he manages to do it with so much pressure around. I think he soon.

Do you know that Yuvraj is unwell?

I got a message from Yuvi sometime back, just a casual one, but he never mentioned it. When I got to know about it, I asked him about it and he said he was fine. I learnt it is not cancerous. All he needs is a surgery. I hope he recovers soon. I wish him good luck.
