Noted writer Salman Rushdie is in danger of losing his crown.
According to an article in The Guardian, Man Booker is celebrating it's 40th anniversary by pitting 41 Booker prize winners against each other for a new award aptly titled Best of the Booker.
Rushdie's Midnight's Children won the Booker of Bookers award -- declaring it the best book to have ever won the Booker prize -- on the award's 25th anniversary in 1993. Now, 15 years and 15 winners on, he is in danger of losing his crown to Margaret Atwood (The Blind Assassin), Arundhati Roy (The God of Small Things) and Yann Martell (The Life of Pi).

Six titles will be chosen from the 41 novels that have won the Booker prize by a panel of judges, including the broadcaster Mariella Frostrup and John Mullan, professor of English at UCL, and led by the biographer and critic Victoria Glendinning, the website reported.
The shortlisted titles will be revealed in May followed by a public vote on the prize's website.The overall winner will be announced at the London Literary Festival at the Southbank Centre in July.
