The latest updates from the Tamil film industry.
R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi are all set to share screen space for a film helmed by director duo Pushkar and Gayathri, who have made films like Oram Po and Va.
Titled Vikram-Veda, the new film will be produced by Sashikanth of Y Not Studios, who had bankrolled Madhavan’s last hit Irudhi Suttru.
The film is believed to be based on the fascinating tales of Vikramathithan Vethalam and will have Madhavan play an encounter specialist and Vijay a gangster.
Latest reports suggest that talks are on with the actors to coordinate the dates and an official announcement is likely to be made soon.
Kaaka Muttai director impressed with Ritika Singh
Meanwhile, Madhavan’s co-star Irudhi Suttru Ritika Singh seems to have impressed National award-winning director M Manikandan.
The Kaaka Muttai director has signed this real life boxer, who won hearts with her brilliant performance, to play the lead in his new venture Aaandavan Kattalai.
Interestingly, the youngster will be seen opposite Vijay Sethupathi in the film.
Director Manikandan has confirmed that the film will not be a sports film and is scheduled to go on floors next month.
Vishal to work with director Mysskin
Vishal was to team up with director Lingusamy for a sequel to their 2005 blockbuster Sandakozhi.
But sources claim that the actor has walked out of the project and will now be seen in Mysskin's fantasy film.
Vishal is currently busy wrapping up the shooting of Maruthu, which he is producing himself under the direction of Muthiah.
The rest of the cast is yet to be finalized and shooting is expected to commence in May.
